| Mission: | To support churches’ ministry to families for whom the lack of transportation is a barrier to sustaining viable employment, affordable housing and healthy community connections. Our goal is to help families become self-sufficient. | |

| Mentors: | Church volunteer mentors and families work together. Our mentoring program is an excellent way for people to work one-on-one with each other. Families can learn about budgeting for car costs like insurance and car maintenance as well as other vehicle responsibilities. | |

| Method: |
CarLink is eager to receive the donation of your car, van, SUV, or pickup, however, we are not able to accept vehicles that aren't in running order. Vehicles that potentially meet the needs of waiting clients will be considered for placement. If a vehicle passes inspection and is placed with an eligible client family, the donor becomes eligible for a Michigan State Income Tax Credit. A tax form will be sent to all eligible donors as soon as a placement occurs. Please discuss the best way to take advantage of this credit with your tax advisor. Many vehicles are sold to help purchase reliable used cars that better fit families' specific needs. The money from the sale of any vehicle stays with the CarLink program and gives us funds that we need in order to place reliable used cars for families in need. Thus, ALL donations help accomplish the same goal; providing transportation for families who need it. |
